An Interface is treated like a Data Type in SE11

Dear Experts,

I just want to know that while creating a data type in Data dictionary the existing object is also check for class Interface or not.

today I was creating a data type in SE11 named as ZTES, it gives a message that Data type is already exist, but there is no data type of the same name, and when I choose display, then it triggers me with a Interface screen of the SE24 transaction, and there was an Interface of the same name,

so I just want to know 'Is an Interface or classes also treated like a data type ?' or something is there which I am missing,

please clarify me,
