4.6c Legacy data into SAP S/4 HANA

Need some advice. First allow me to explain our situation.

Currently my company is implementing SAP S/4 HANA a fresh re-install. We are coming from SAP ECC 4.6c. From a project point of view we are towards the end of the BluePrint phase. Yes i'm aware already on the new agile methodology. We are about to get into the realization phase. The problem is that our legacy system being SAP ERP ECC 4.6c has about 15 years of data which we cannot lose or disregard. In short alot of this data is maintained in Z-Tables especially from production as our industry and company is unique. Japanese automobile industry with Heijunka and Kanban processes. So there was no standard way of doing some of the business processes when the system was implemented in some time back in 2001. So alot of customizations.

SAP BW is not an option at the moment. Meaning our company is not going with it. So we're looking for the best way to get at least 2 or 3 years of data into our new SAP system. The data will be used for reporting purposes or analysis comparisons and those sort of things.

Some of the options being discussed around the table is to import that data 4.6c into Z-tables in SAP S/4 HANA then develop some reports within Hana to analyze the data and make sense of it.

Some advice would greatly be appreciated in how you would tackle this situation if it were you.

I guess some things to keep in mind is how to really benefit or utilize the built in migration tools of SAP S/4 HANA. Can it be used coming from ECC 4.6C? What other possiblities are there?

Thank You.

Ali
