SAP HANA Platform

Hello,

I have a question regarding the definition of the term ''platform'' itsself and in association with SAP HANA.

In my project paper I described the term ''platform'' as followed:

In the Information Technology section a platform is a homogeneous basis on which programs can be installed and operated. However, there exist two types of platforms which have to be differentiated. First of all, there is the hardware-platform which is established through the computer architecture. Well known are Complex Instruction Set Computer (CISC), Multiple Instruction Multiple Data (MIMD) and Reduced Instruction Set Computer (RISC). While software-platforms deal with the establishment of a basis for operating systems and application programs.

Is that coorect and how can I described it in association with SAP HANA?

Thank you in advance.
